La idea es sencilla: un grupo de jubilados que se entretienen resolviendo misterios y acaban enredados en una investigación real. Puede sonar a fórmula ya vista, pero funciona porque se apoya en un guion ágil que combina humor, ternura y un puntito de intriga. Lo que de verdad sostiene la película es su reparto. Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley y Celia Imrie disfrutan de principio a fin, y eso se transmite. La química entre ellos da lugar a momentos entrañables, capaces de arrancar sonrisas y de hacer que el espectador se sienta parte del grupo. El misterio en sí no sorprende demasiado ni es especialmente complejo, pero tampoco parece que sea lo importante.
