(CASTELLANO) Me ha gustado bastante porque me ha recordado mucho a ese tipo de películas de acción que veía los viernes por la noche al volver de fiesta, de las de Schwarzenegger, Stallone o Van Damme. Tiene esa energía de serie B musculada, de supervivencia bruta, de tipos duros metidos en una situación imposible y obligados a resistir como sea. Además, dentro de la película se pueden ver ecos bastante claros de otras cosas que me gustan mucho. Está ese punto de eliminación uno a uno que recuerda a Deliverance y también a Depredador, con la sensación de que la amenaza va arrasando con todos casi sin esfuerzo. Y luego hay momentos de combate y de tensión que remiten bastante a Aliens: El regreso, sobre todo cuando la acción se vuelve más física y exagerada. Alan Ritchson, además, me gana fácil. Ya de entrada me apetece verlo en una película así, y aquí cumple con lo que uno espera de él: presencia, contundencia y carisma suficiente para sostener una historia que, siendo sinceros, no va precisamente sobrada de originalidad. Pero tampoco creo que esa sea su prioridad. La película no es sofisticada ni pretende serlo. Va a lo que va: acción, tensión, ruido, músculo, tiros y amenaza constante. Y, dentro de ese terreno, funciona bastante bien. No me parece una de esas películas que haya que analizar demasiado, sino más bien una de esas que se disfrutan si conectas con ese tipo de cine directo y sin complejos. Es verdad que tira de muchas fórmulas conocidas y que no todo el reparto tiene el mismo peso. También se nota que está construida a partir de influencias muy visibles. Pero, aun así, tiene ritmo, aguanta bien y sabe darte justo ese tipo de entretenimiento bruto que a veces apetece muchísimo. En conjunto, me ha gustado porque recupera un tipo de acción que no siempre se ve tanto ahora y que, de vez en cuando, sienta fenomenal. No será una obra maestra, pero sí una peli muy disfrutable si entras en su juego y aceptas ese espíritu de videoclub desatado. (ENGLISH) I liked it quite a lot because it really reminded me of the kind of action movies I used to watch on Friday nights after coming home from partying, the kind with Schwarzenegger, Stallone, or Van Damme. It has that pumped-up B-movie energy, that raw survival mood, that feeling of hard men thrown into an impossible situation and forced to endure however they can. You can also spot some very clear echoes of other things I love. There is that one-by-one elimination feel that brings Deliverance to mind, and also Predator, with the sense that the threat is wiping everyone out almost effortlessly. And then there are moments of combat and tension that really evoke Aliens, especially when the action becomes more physical and exaggerated. Alan Ritchson is also an easy win for me. I already want to watch him in a movie like this, and here he delivers what you expect from him: presence, force, and enough charisma to carry a story that, to be honest, is not exactly overflowing with originality. But I do not think that is really its priority anyway. The movie is not sophisticated, and it does not pretend to be. It goes straight for what it wants: action, tension, noise, muscle, gunfire, and constant threat. And within that territory, it works pretty well. I do not think this is one of those films you need to overanalyze; it is more one of those you enjoy if you connect with this kind of direct, unapologetic action cinema. It is true that it relies on many familiar formulas and that not every member of the cast carries the same weight. You can also feel that it is built out of very visible influences. Even so, it has pace, it holds up well, and it knows how to give you exactly that kind of rough entertainment that sometimes feels especially satisfying. Overall, I liked it because it brings back a kind of action movie that you do not always see so often now, and that, every once in a while, feels great. It may not be a masterpiece, but it is a very enjoyable film if you accept its game and that wild old video-store spirit.
